Program Learning Outcomes

Theoretical, Factual

- Knows theoretical approaches in the field of media and communication, and gains ability of development of new approaches in these fields

- Knows communication models, and interpreting these models in terms of sociology, psychology, economics etc., puts particular contributions to these models

- Gains competent, mainly in social and humanities sciences, in some kind of sciences, does multidisciplinary science research, and analyses these kinds of studies/research

- Recognizing news production models, leads to new models and approaches.


Cognitive, Practical

- Protuces, edits and directs news/reporting in any kind of media (newspaper, magazine, web site, radia, television etc.).

- Takes photograph, mainly in the field of press photo, in some kind of photography fields

- Uses communication technologies effectively, and gains production ability of appropriate contents for increasingly developing new communication technologies

- Works as press adviser, communication coordinator and maneger, and so on in some state and private institutions

- Learning relevant concepts and notions of, notably in journalism field, communication and mess media, make some contributions to these fields as new concepts and notions

- Reaches at a consciousness level in which synthesises society, culture and communication concepts each other

- Gains empathy ability to recognize both individual and societal processes

- Getting effective communication ability, learns basic dynamics of communication processes, and goes into action in this direction

- Evaluating contents of media organisations, finds out actual issues and lacks, and has a part to come over these problems

- Supports peace and consensus of a society, and taking over a mediator mechanism role in any conflicts, sees communication right as primary, and tries to figure out the issues in peaceful and humanitarian ways

- Has an high conciseness on society and collectivism, and as be able to be successful in personal life, takes the responsibilities belonging to himself/herself in a social system.

- Approaches to personal, interpersonal and mess communication processes, knowing what communication and its aims are; and takes an opinion leader role in the communication processes.

- Lerans a foreign language, at least, at a good level, and in the international area, participates in news/reporting flows and so on.

- Conceders social utilities in his/her works and productions, and in these directions, develops communication strategies, and pays attention to humanitarian values as primarily in producing news, reporting, photo, video, graphics etc.

Field-based Competence

- Enables society to recognize role of media, and gains depth about such particular subjects as media literacy, new media and social media and so on.

- Tends to contents in related to general public interests in the media and communication environments such as newspaper, magazine, radio, television, blogs and web sides etc.

- Since absorbs ethics values of vocation, doesn’t allows to any discriminating or othering content in either his/her professional life or in contents produced by him/her, and finally tries to prevent such kind of discourses.

- Grasps the field of media and communication, and making in his/her actions through dynamics of these fields, contributes to development of a good communication environment.
