Goals
To gain skills to get access to the secondary data related to agricultural economics; to apply basic sampling knowledge regarding primary data acquisition; to summarize data by classifying them in various forms; estimating and calculating various statistical measures such as indices, parities, trade rates
Content
Definition and classification of statistics, statistical resources; statistical data mostly used in agricultural economics, their classification and data resources; compilation of statistical data, data compilation techniques (questionnaires, observations, experiments and projections); basic information required for quantitative analysis of numerical data; basic and compound index calculation methods; use of indices; growth rate calculations; time series analysis (long term movements and trends, cyclical variations, seasonal variations and irregular or random movements)
