Goals
Food production and agricultural policies are regarded as a global issue today rather than being a national problem due to international interdependence. From this point of view, main purpose of this course is to gain students a global viewpoint investigating farming, farming policies, international interdependence and relations, and agribusiness that constitutes the basics for all these relations
Content
Scope, importance and growth of international relations; international trade theories; interventions to foreign trade and national justifications; reasons causing international agricultural relations; production, consumption and trade of world agricultural commodities; international agricultural and trade policies and situation of underdeveloped countries; agricultural protectionism and subsidies; international agricultural treaties and organizations; agricultural relations between EU and Turkey
