Goals
The purpose of this lesson is to gain the skill of making soil survey and to teach procedures used in soil survey and land use planning.Kinds and properties of soil surveys,kinds of mapping units,procedures of soil surveys,The cartographic materials used,preparation of interpretation maps from soil surveys and using these maps in land use planning
Content
Aims of soil surveys, kind of soil surveys, kind of mapping units, procedures of soil surveys, cartographic materials used in soil survey and interpretation, writing soil survey repors, land capability classification and land use planning.

Learning Outcomes
1) Knows kinds and properties of soil surveys
2) Prepares a soil survey project
3) Interprets and knows how to use cartographic materials, that is used in soil surveys,such as aerial photo, satellite images.
4) Determines soil boundaries in field and also on the cartographic material.
5) can determine land use capability class of a soil, necessary land use management practices from a soil map
6) Knows the contents of a soil survey report and prepare a soil survey report.
7) Knows importances of a land use planning and its procedures.
8) Makes a land use plan for a given area on the sustainable basis
