Goals
To put fort the mechanisms of physiological processes occurred during plant nutrition within the framework of basic concepts and principles; to learn about root systems, soil characteristics, water uptake and transport, functions of plant nutrients , motion theories, relationships between nutrition and environmental factors.
Content
Physico-chemical changes in plant cells and organs. Basic concepts (cell organelles, proteins and etc.), plant nutrients, the factors effecting nutrient uptake and method to determine these factors, soil characteristics as a nutrient medium, root systems, structure and characteristics of water, water absorption and transport, plant water balance, nutrient transport in roots and cell membranes, production, transport and energy production of organic matters, nutrition and fruit/crop formation, nutrition-quality relations, functions of hormones in nutrition, biotic-abiotic stress factors and nutrition relations

Learning Outcomes
1) Knows basic theories and principles required to explain the physiological mechanisms related to nutrition,
2) Explains the effects of water and minerals on nutrition and fruit / crop formation,
3) Knows about soil-plant-water relations within a physiological perspective,
4) Distinguishes the effects of development factors on growth, development and fruit/crop formation,
5) Estimates the effects of plant nutrition on product quality,
6) Explains nutrient distribution in plants, estimates yield, and criticizes fertilization programs.
