Goals
To provide basic information to students on the etiology, epidemiology and pathogenesis of common infectious diseases. In addition, to provide the students with the knowledge and qualifications about antimicrobial drugs used against infectious diseases to benefit throughout their professional life.
Content
The etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment and epidemiology of bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections of the systems and organs are explained.

Learning Outcomes
1) Defines the basic concepts of clinical microbiology.
2) Learns basic information about epidemiology and pathogenesis of infectious diseases.
3) Can list important infectious diseases and can express these diseases in general features.
4) Have basic knowledge about important infectious diseases for Turkey.
5) Can express systematically the mechanisms of action of antimicrobial drugs and resistance mechanisms against these drugs.
