Generate a general understanding about the relationships between basic concepts of education, teaching profession, education and other institutions.
Content
Basic concepts of education, teaching profession and professionalisation conditions, school and classroom environment, foundations of education, new trends in the twenty-first century, mass communication and education, the problems of Turkish education system

Learning Outcomes
1) Define the basic concepts of education (education, instruction, learning, etc.).
2) Apprehend the differences between the basic concepts of education.
3) Apprehend the teaching profession, the conditions and the properties of professionalisation.
4) Describe features that teachers should have.
5) Analyze the psychological, social, economic, philosophical and legal foundations of education.
6) Apprehend the roles and the responsibilities of the teacher in education and instruction.
7) Apprehend the new trends in Turkish education system.
8) Evaluate the problems of Turkish education system.
