The objective of this course is to perform a real geotechnical design using basic geotechnical knowledge.
Design project in geotechnical engineering which may include the following topics: Shallow foundations, settlement analysis, deep foundations, stabilization of landslides, in-situ retaining structures for excavation support, embankments, ground improvement techniques.
|1) Ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering for modelling and solving practical engineering problems|
|2) Ability to identify, formulate and solve complex civil engineering problems.|
|3) Ability to use techniques and modern tools which are necessary for civil engineering practices, use of informatics|
