Basic concepts (chemical bonds, organic structures, acids and bases, electrophiles, nucleophiles, structure and activity), Saturated hydrocarbons, Stereochemistry, Nucleophilic displacement and dissociation reactions, Alkyls and ethers and sulphuric compounds, Amines

Learning Outcomes
1) It can distinguish different functional groups in organic molecules.
2) It can name organic compounds using the IUPAC nomenclature system.
3) Explain the chemical reactions of functional groups.
4) Explain the importance and source of stereochemistry in organic chemistry.
5) Substitution (SN1, SN2) and elimination (E1, E2) reactions can be compared in terms of solvent type, nucleophile and base, stereochemistry required substrate.
