Course Goal

Recognize the vegetable and ornamental plant species and varieties grown in the world and in Turkey; know their plant, agronomic and ecological characteristics; discuss their growing areas and production problems; understand the basic concepts and subjects about the origin centers of plants, cultivation techniques and garden establishment

Course Content

Terms of vegetable and ornamental plants, their differences from other cultivated plants, the importance of vegetables for nutrition and health, the place of vegetables and ornamental plants in worlds and countrys economy, origin centers, garden establishment, propagation techniques, preparation of soil and sowing-transplanting places, pruning, fertilization, irrigation, pollination, and help to pollination subjects.
