Course Goal

To teach the techniques and methods used in tissue culture and genetic engineering as basic plant biotechnology subjects.

Course Content

Basic subjects will be covered as an introduction to biotechnology. These will primarily include tissue culture and genetic engineering in plants.

LO01 Learns plant tissue culture and the areas it covers
LO02 Learns plant production methods in vitro conditions. Knows which of them will be used for clonal production.
LO03 Learns the basic principles of gene transfer to plants.
LO04 Learns the necessity of hybridization at the cell level and how it is done in laboratory conditions for plants that have problems in hybridization in the classical method
LO05 Learns how to obtain clean production material that is disease-free, especially free from viruses and virus-like pathogens
LO06 Learns the methods used in obtaining transgenic plants. Gain knowledge of whether commercially produced transgenic plants are potential risk factors
