Course Goal

Examining the use of problem solving in mathematics teaching according to their aims and preparing rich learning environments with problem-based learning.

Course Content

Problem and problem solving, types of problems, importance of teaching problem solving, recent developments in problem solving, mathematical problem solving strategies and the importance of multiple representations in problem solving; examples of problems that can be solved with different problem solving strategies, evaluation of problem solving; definition, process, characteristics and importance of problem posing, classifications of problem posing, problem posing strategies
