Course Goal

To acquire the necessary information for the treatment and interpretation of movement in sports as the interaction of the biological model and the physical environment.

Course Content

The description of movement as the interaction of a biological model with the physical world: Efficient movement, numeric and graphic relationships between kinematic and kinetic variables, acceleration and muscle activity, free body diagram, body segments parameters, human movement forces, torque, force-mass-acceleration approach, impulse-momentum approach, work-energy approach, the single joint system, suprasegmental organization, musculoskeletal organization, movement strategies, acute adaptations, chronic adaptations, principles related to avoiding injury.
