Course Goal / Objective
In this course, an examination of the mine craft and artefacts that were created in ancient Near East and Anatolia will be conducted starting from the oldest, and their construction techniques, usage forms purpose and decorations will be uncovered. Also, their possible relations to the neighboring cultures as well as the scope and limits of the archaeological data will be discussed.
Course Content
The first traces of mining in Anatolia, Mineral Elements: Copper, Bronze, Tin, The stages of development of Mining: Preparation Phase: Metal-free period, Inception Phase: Single Metalli Period, Mineral Dressing Techniques: Play, Engraving, Embossing, Die-relief hole, Filigree .
