General Information

Çukurova University Ceyhan Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was established with the decision of the Council of Ministers dated 12.11.2012 according to the additional article 30 of the act numbered 2809 and started its educational activities in 2015. Our faculty continues its educational programme in two separate locations, which one is in Ceyhan and the other one is in Balcalı (Central) Campus. In our faculty, educational and training activities are carried out with the appointment of 20 faculty members (researchers) and 5 research assistants, as well as other relevant units of our university and faculty members from different universities. In addition to the educational activities in the laboratories of our faculty, analysis for research and diagnosis is carried out by using the infrastructure of Cukurova University. Additionally, our faculty provides training and consultancy services to veterinarians and breeders country wide. Except faculty classrooms and laboratories, our students also benefit from the Farm Animals Research and Application Center of the Faculty of Agriculture, Veterinary Control Research Institutes of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, units affiliated to the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks, Adana Meat and Dairy Institution Slaughterhouse, Turkish Jockey Club Equine Hospital, Animal Care Centers of Adana Metropolitan Municipality and District Municipalities and Animal Care Center of Osmaniye Municipality. Apart from the mentioned institutional units, regular visits are made to private ranchs and livestock enterprises of different animal species in order to increase the field experiences of our students. In addition to these, our Faculty also fulfills its social contribution to students and the society at all levels from primary education to secondary education, by carrying out various information activities about the love of animals, animal health and prevention and control of zoonotic diseases transmitted from animal to human and human to animal. The educational period in Veterinary Faculties is 5 years (consisting of 10 semesters), and graduates are awarded a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) diploma equivalent to a master's degree for post-graduate education. Our faculty also continues its post-graduate educational activities within the body of Cukurova University Health Sciences and Science Institutes.

Veterinary medicine is a multidisciplinary medical profession that needs to acquire knowledge and skills on topics such as animal health and nutrition, animal health and nutrition, animal health, environmental health, production of feedstuffs and production of biological materials. Goals

A veterinarian who graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine; 1. Having knowledge about basic veterinary services, 2. To have the skills and competencies and ethical values required by the veterinary profession, To be aware of the country requirements in matters related to animal husbandry policies and animal health issues, 3. To establish a healthy communication with patient owners, colleagues and professional institutions and organizations dealing with veterinary medicine as required by your doctor, 4. Being able to act effectively at all stages of zoonotic disease-related protection and control work with zoonotic disease-infected animals, having clinical knowledge for domestic animals and wild animals, 5. Specific Admission Requirements

Students are accepted to this program with the placement result document given by the Student Assessment, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). However, within the scope of lateral transfer, they can be placed with Supplement Article-1 (Ek Madde-1) and General Grade Point Average (GPA) in accordance with the current guidelines.

Qualification Awarded

The students who have successfully accomplished this program gain " Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) " degree with a master of science (MSc) diploma.

Qualification Requirements of Graduation

In order to graduate from the Faculty of Veterinary, students must complete the total amount of 300 ECTS credits, to win at least 25% of the total credits from the elective courses, all courses, applications and internships prescribed by the program, provisions of the Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations of Çukurova University and have a GPA of at least 2.00 over 4.00.

Access to Further Studies

Students who complete their five-year education graduate with a "Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Graduate Diploma" which is equivalent to a master's degree for post-graduate education. As long as they meet the necessary conditions, they can continue their national and/or international "PhD" and "Specialization in Veterinary Medicine" training.
