To train specialists at the level of doctor of science who can meet the needs of universities, public institutions and private sector organizations operating in the field of horticulture; being able to develop and deepen the knowledge gained in the field of horticultural crops in the doctoral program at the level of expertise, accessing resources related to horticultural plants, benefiting from these resources and constantly renewing themselves; It is aimed to train graduates who have the ability to lead and solve problems in an environment that requires solving problems related to horticultural crops.

Goals

To train scientists who can predict the current and potential problems encountered in the field of horticultural crops, determine the ways to be followed in the solution of these problems, apply and conclude within a plan, evaluate information sources appropriately and develop new methods.

Objectives

To train researchers and academics who can independently plan and conduct scientific studies, conduct interdisciplinary studies when necessary, present the research results with appropriate analysis and synthesis methods and present them on national and international platforms, constantly monitor new developments in their field and transfer them to their studies, open to criticism, respect ethical values and have developed self-confidence.

Qualification Requirements of Graduation

The student has to take 7 courses, 21 credits, 42 ECTS and formation courses. After the Thesis Program Summary is presented in front of the Thesis Monitoring Committee, it is sent to the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences. The student who completes the thesis work defends his thesis in front of the jury selected in accordance with the rules of the Institute of Science and Technology.

Students who graduate from the program can work as researchers and publishers in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Livestock and various state institutions, as well as Ziraat Bank and some other banks, Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, Municipalities, private seed and seedling growing companies, fruit-vegetable storage warehouses. and product packaging houses, tomato paste-canned and fruit juice factories, private farms and greenhouses; In addition to private garden care and consultancy services, it also provides seeds, fertilizers and pesticides; they can work on issues such as export-import, packaging-marketing and certification, they can establish and operate private breeding units or pursue an academic career at universities.
