Medical Laboratory Technics Programme started education in the 1990-1991 academic year. The name of our school has been changed as “ABDİ SUTCU VOCATIONAL SCHOOL OF HEALTH SERVICES” according to Article 7/d-2 of law number2547 of Higher Education Council on the date 14/09/2017

Feature & Definition

As a Medical Laboratory program, we have a total quota of 65 students, including 50 students with YKS score, 2 school first and 13 earthquake victims. The language of education is Turkish. Students do their theoretical and practical courses in the laboratories of Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine Research and Application Hospital. The aim of the program is to train health professionals to work as laboratory technicians in health institutions and organizations. Students who graduate from this program earn the title of health technician. They can find jobs in university and state hospitals and private laboratories.

Goals

The aim of this course is to educate technicians cabaple of classifying samples in basic and clinical biochemistry, microbiology, pathology and molecular biology and biochemistry laboratories; preparing for pre-analysis phase; applying quality control mechanisms and using tools, equipments and medical analysis devices

Objectives

Our aim is to train medical laboratory technicians who can apply manual, semi and fully automated systems together with modern techniques.

Specific Admission Requirements

According to the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) conducted by the Presidency of OSYM, students are admitted to this program within the quota. In addition to this, students are accepted in the quota announced by the international student office with the transfer quotas according to the central/ grade point average.

Qualification Requirements of Graduation

Students must have succeeded in the courses in the program, at least 120 ECTS credits, and a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

Access to Further Studies

Graduates deserve vertically transfer to appropriate undergraduate programs (Biology, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, Biotechnology and Molecular Biology, Genetics and Bioengineering, Nursing, Nursing and Health Services, Molecular Biology and Genetics e.t.c) by successfully achieving the vertical transfer exam (DGS). Thus, they can earn the right to undergraduate education.

Internship

Mandatory summer internship is 30 workdays. Internships can be done in state/ university/ private hospital laboratories and public/ private medical laboratories.

Work Placement

There is no a workplace training application.
