General Information

Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Textile and Fashion Design; The aim of the textile industry is to train designers who are familiar with the need for weaving, printing and clothing. Our department students are different in terms of design principle during their education; but they take the disciplines of weaving, printing and clothing design which are different from each other. In our program, courses are given to transfer these three disciplines to original art products. Besides the artist candidate discovering himself and the art, the program is conducted with conferences, exhibitions and technical trips. The Department of Textile and Fashion Design aims to develop students' visions of art and design.

Çukurova University Textile and Fashion Design Master's Program with Thesis allows students to take a wide range of courses in accordance with its objectives. In the program, there are courses that are suitable for the abilities of the students, meet the demands in the themes and areas they are interested in, and in which each student can specialize. The department has a training program that covers the basic subjects and main research areas in its content and will enable students to be trained in such a way that they can do research in these areas.

Goals

In line with the contemporary art, design and fashion trends, it provides design education in the fields of weaving, printing and garment design which are in need of textile industry. Training, textile and fashion design courses as well as artistic-cultural, textile techniques and computer-aided design courses to be supported.

Objectives

The aim of the course is to provide students with world-class design education that can compete at national and international level by furthering our students' achievements and academic activities. Textile design department, textile, ready-to-wear and fashion industry, textile techniques and materials to recognize, following the agenda of the creative national and international competition can compete with leading designers.

Specific Admission Requirements

Admission and registration conditions are announced on the Çukurova University Social Sciences Institute website for the Fall and Spring Semesters. ALES score is not required for student admission to the departments of fine arts faculties established under the Social Sciences Institute.

Qualification Awarded

Graduates who successfully complete the program by fulfilling all the requirements receive a "Master Diploma in Textile and Fashion Design".

Qualification Requirements of Graduation

This program consists of at least seven credit courses with a total of not less than 21 credits, specialization courses, seminar course and thesis. Seminar course and thesis work are not included in the credit and are evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. A master's program with thesis consists of a total of at least 120 ECTS credits, at least eight courses including the seminar course and thesis work, provided that it is not less than 60 ECTS credits in one academic term (total of fall and spring semesters). The maximum number of courses that can be taken in the master's program with thesis is ten. Additional courses can be taken upon the request of the student and the advisor, the recommendation of the head of the department, including the reasoned decision of the department / academic committee, and the approval of the institute board of directors. Lesson phase; thesis stage, from a total of 60 ECTS, including specialization courses and seminars; It cannot be less than 60 ECTS, including specialization course and thesis work. At the thesis stage, students are registered for the thesis study course each semester. The evaluation of the thesis work is determined by the decision of the jury as a result of the thesis defense. A student cannot take more than 15 credits in a semester, excluding the specialization course, Scientific Research Techniques and Publication Ethics course (for Institutes that do not include the required credit load for graduation) and seminars. The seminar course is held at the lecture stage. In order to be considered successful in a course, as the final grade of that course; The graduate student must have obtained at least a CC grade. For the master's degree, the grade of CC is considered successful if the student's GPA is 2.5 and above.

Access to Further Studies

Students who successfully complete their master's education can study in their own field or in related fields in Doctorate / Proficiency in Art programs.

There is no internship course in the master's program.
