General Information
The PhD Program in German Language Education is at least a three-year program. The first two semesters are given theoretical courses and the thesis is prepared in the following four semesters. Theoretical courses include topics such as literature education, language acquisition, linguistics and foreign language teaching and teaching methods. The aim of the theoretical lectures is to create a more effective and comprehensive scientific approach, to develop scientific study methods with examples and to carry out an original study with the chosen thesis topic. The courses are given from 2 professors, 2 associate professors and 6 assistant professors.

Train researchers and teaching staff for German Language Education. In order to apply to the program, must be reached at least 55 points from ALES at least 70 points from YÖKDİL / YDS or an equivalent German test. For the application, it is not required to be a graduate of German Language Education. Candidates who have sufficient knowledge of German language are accepted or not to doctoral program by taking oral exam.

Goals
The aim of this course is to provide the student with the ability to conduct independent research in the field of German language teaching, to analyze and interpret scientific events from a broad and deep perspective and to determine the necessary steps for analyzing and reaching new syntheses.
Objectives
The aim is to educate qualified faculty members for academic units that teach and educate German in Turkey.

Qualification Requirements of Graduation
In order to graduate from this programme, the students are required to successfully complete all the courses with a minimum average grade point of 3.00 out of 4.00. A doctoral thesis must be successfully defended in front of a jury.
