General Information

Students who graduate from the Tourism and Hotel Management Program are entitled to receive an Associate Degree. Graduates have the opportunity to work in all areas of the tourism industry. Although their working areas are mostly in the private sector, they can also work in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and its affiliates in the public sector.

Tourism is an important sector in terms of contributing to regional, national and international economies, creating employment, and the importance it shows in protecting natural and cultural heritage. Service is essential in tourism. Skill, efficiency, professionalism and courtesy, which are the most important elements of the service, are important and are the result of education and training activities in these features. It is a two-year program that aims to train leaders and intermediate staff who have knowledge, skills and equipment, who can take part in service and production processes in the tourism and accommodation sector.

Goals

It is a two-year program that aims to train leaders and intermediate staff who have knowledge, skills and equipment, who can take part in service and production processes in the tourism and accommodation sector. Graduates; next to accommodation establishments; They will be able to work in various units of Travel Agencies, Food and Beverage Businesses, Thermal Tourism Centers, Tour Operator Businesses, Airlines and Maritime Businesses, Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Objectives

It is aimed to train qualified intermediate manpower who can work in the tourism sector, who have general tourism and communication knowledge, who know the professional legislation and professional ethics, who are sensitive to the protection of touristic resources and the environment, who can use office and hotel automation programs on the computer, who know the operation of all departments in the hotel.

Specific Admission Requirements

The registration of the candidates to the program is made within the framework of the principles determined by the Higher Education Council and the Assessment, Selection and Placement Center and the conditions determined by the University.

He/she gets the title of Tourism and Hotel Management Professional.

Qualification Requirements of Graduation

In order to graduate from this program, you have to be successful in all courses and also have at least 2,00 of 4,00 weighted GPA is required.

Access to Further Studies

Graduates can participate the undergraduate education departments of universities by taking the vertical transfer exam (DGS). The departments that our students who graduated from the Tourism and Hotel Management program can enter by entering the DGS are as follows: Business Administration, Business Informatics, Business Management, Business - Economy, Hospitality Management, Accommodation and Tourism Management, Tourism Management, Tourism Management and Hotel Management, Tourism and Hotel Management Tourism and Hospitality Management

Internship

At the end of the first year, students do an internship in the tourism sector for 30 working days.

Applied Course

These are the courses that are made to transform the knowledge gained in the theoretical courses into a skill for practice and to gain practice.

Work Placement

In addition to supporting the theoretically taught courses and various practices, learning is provided by making summer internships and sector visits to reinforce them.

They are employed in the private and public sectors related to companies producing goods/services in the tourism industry.
