General Information

Cukurova University, Institute of Natural Sciences Textile Engineering Department began its educational activities in 1993-1994 academic year. It began M.Sc. education in spring semester of 1993-1994 also gives PhD Education beginning from autumn semester of 2002-2003. Approximately 94 Masters and 34 PhD students have graduated so far.

Feature & Definition

The Master of science program enables the student to gain the ability to access, evaluate and interpret information by doing scientific research. This program consists of at least 7 courses, seminar and thesis studies. All the courses in the program are elective and they are taken according to the supervisor's suggestions.

Goals

With the program, it is aimed to educate engineers with MSc degree who have assimilated basic knowledge on textile engineering, follow technological and scientific innovations, design textile products and processes, and who can contribute to multidisciplinary team works.

Objectives

Taking into account the requirements of the textile industry, our department aims to train the engineers with the qualifications parallel to the expectations of the industrialists. The program also aims to enable its graduates to have strong basic knowledge, know how to access information, renew themselves, become a researcher, with an analytical frame of mind, to be capable of synthesizing, understanding of professional ethics and become engineers who can easily communicate with their surroundings, and who are also responsible and productive.

Specific Admission Requirements

In order to graduate from this programme, the students are required to successfully complete all the courses with a minimum average grade point of 2.50 out of 4.00.

Qualification Awarded

The Master’s Degree in Textile Engineering (second cycle in Textile Engineering) is awarded to the graduates who have successfully fulfilled all programme requirements.

In order to graduate from this programme, the students are required to successfully complete all the courses with a minimum average grade point of 3.00 out of 4.00.Graduation requirements are as defined in part of "Requirements and regulations of acquired degree".

Access to Further Studies

The graduates of this program are eligible to apply for admission to obtain a PhD degree in their or related fields if they pass the evaluation process designated according to the “Regulations of Çukurova University Graduate Studies”, which includes a required ALES score and an adequate English language proficiency.
