It started education in 1996-1997 academic year with its first student. Only I. Education education program is available. In this program, it is aimed to train competent technical personnel who assist the dentist during the treatment performed by the dentist and transfer the basic information necessary for the development of oral dental health awareness to the patient.

Feature & Definition
Students are accepted to this program according to the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) conducted by ÖSYM Presidency. The aim of the oral and dental health technician program is to train students who will meet the intermediate staff needs of our country, who are preferred in the public and private sectors, who are respected, qualified, contemporary and have reached the international level of knowledge in the field of dental health. The language of education is Turkish. Students who complete the program are awarded an associate degree diploma and the title of “Oral and Dental Health Technician”. Graduates of this department do not have the opportunity to work individually and can work in dental clinics, dental health units of hospitals or public organizations.

Goals
The purpose of the Oral and Dental Health Program is to train oral and dental health technicians who assist the dentist during treatments performed by the dentist, disinfect and sterilize dental devices and instruments, are experts in their fields, continue to improve themselves with the awareness of lifelong learning, and have cultural and professional ethical values.
Objectives
To train oral and dental health technicians who will assist the dentist in the clinical workflow, ensure that patients are prepared for dental procedures, participate in the practice of dentistry during examinations and treatments, ensure that appointments are organized, ensure communication between the dentist and laboratory technician, disinfect and sterilize dental devices and instruments, prevent cross-infection of the tools, equipment and devices required for dental procedures and ensure routine service at a level that protects occupational health and safety, and have cultural and professional ethical values.
Specific Admission Requirements
Students are accepted to this program within the quota according to the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) conducted by ÖSYM Presidency. In addition, students are also accepted within the quotas announced by the international student office with the quotas of transfer according to the central / general grade point average.

Qualification Requirements of Graduation
Students are required to have passed the courses in the program with at least 120 ECTS credits and a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.
Access to Further Studies
Our graduates are successful in the DGS exam and gain the right of vertical transfer to appropriate undergraduate programs (Biology, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Biotechnology, Biotechnology and Molecular Biology, Genetics and Bioinformatics, Genetics and Bioengineering, Bioengineering, Nursing, Nursing and Health Services). Thus, they can complete their undergraduate education.
Internship
The duration of the compulsory summer internship is 30 working days. Internship can be done in State and University Hospitals.
Applied Course
Applied courses are carried out in the clinics of Çukurova University Faculty of Dentistry.
Work Placement
Workplace training is not available.

Employment Opportunities
Oral and Dental Health Technicians can work as an assistant to the dentist in private institutions, public hospitals and dentistry faculty clinics.
