Aim of the graduate program in Agricultural Economics is to provide the tools and knowledge to those who wish to carry out research and specialize in agricultural economics and related areas. Graduate students become acquainted with the special aspects of agriculture during their education according to their orientation and can analyze a chosen problem under a supervisor.

Goals

The aim of this programme is to enable students to understand agriculture in socio-economic terms at an advanced level. In addition, to make students able to make socio-economic analysis of agricultural production at an advanced level.

Objectives

The target of this programme is to educate students who learn the socio-economic structure of agriculture at an advanced level. In addition, it is to educate students who can make socio-economic analysis of agricultural production at an advanced level.

Specific Admission Requirements

The students can apply to this program providing ALES score, grade point averages and interview in accordance with the regulations of “Çukurova University Graduate Education and Examination Committee” and can pursue their education in their or in related fields.

To work in accordance with the title of Phd degree. To give the courses successfully and to complete the thesis successfully.

Access to Further Studies

The graduates of this program are eligible to apply for admission to obtain a PhD degree in their or related fields if they pass the evaluation process designated according to the “Regulations of Çukurova University Graduate Studies”, which includes a required ALES score and adequate English language proficiency.

It is possible to study at universities abroad for a certain period of time. The departments in these universities can be directly agricultural economics departments or departments related to agricultural economics.

Graduates of this department can be employed in public organizations, such as the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Development, Ministry of Water Affairs and Forestry, Ministry of Trade and Customs, Undersecretariates of Treasury and Foreign Trade, Center of Export Development, Center of National Productivity and State Hydraulic Works and also in banks and insurance companies, agricultural cooperatives and irrigation unions, agricultural and nonagricultural enterprises, chambers and stokmarkets, development agencies, control and certification organizations, and other private sector companies.
