Sports sciences are a field that develops with the contribution of positive and social sciences such as anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, physical-treatment and rehabilitation, pedagogy, psychology, sociology, management, economics, law and engineering, which necessitates interdisciplinary interaction and collaboration. Due to its multidisciplinary nature; the PhD program is closely related to the fields of medicine, engineering, business, law, science-literature, education, communication and tourism. In the Doctoral Program of Sport Sciences, a curriculum will be developed within an interdisciplinary structure based on the pedagogical, psychological and social foundations of sports sciences, sport management and organization, movement, training and health.

Goals
The doctoral program of the sports sciences aims to provide the students with an advanced level of specialization in the field of science, concepts, principles and methods, the ability to reach new synthesis by conducting independent and original scientific research. The program aims to convey what they have learned, to apply their knowledge and competences to the benefit of society within the framework of ethical principles, to share their knowledge and to bring innovation to sports sciences.
Objectives
It is aimed to educate students who know the structure, functioning and behavior of biological systems according to their areas of expertise, as well as to train qualified personnel in the fields of education, sociology, psychology, movement and training science and management sciences.
Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates who have a Master's Degree with thesis from different departments which have accumulation of study related to the subject in addition to the departments related to Sports Sciences can apply to this program. Candidates are required to have the qualifications stated in Cukurova University Postgraduate Education Regulations Ph.D.
Qualification Awarded
The students who have successfully accomplished this program gain the PhD degree in Sports Sciences.

Qualification Requirements of Graduation
The doctoral program includes at least seven credit courses, not less than 60 ECTS, in one academic term (total of fall and spring semesters); consists of seminar course, specialization courses, proficiency exam, thesis proposal and thesis study. Students who are successful in these courses, provided that they cannot be less than 240 ECTS credits in total, complete the program.
