General Information

The aim of the program is to provide students with the ability to evaluate and interpret the information they access through academic research. This program is comprised of at least seven courses, one seminar course and a thesis providing it cannot be less than twenty-one credits. Considering the requirements of primary education, the purpose is to raise experts and academics who are capable of self-renewing, adopting changes and developments, and perceiving science as a way of life; furthermore; it is to train those who are self-confident, following and implementing international scientific developments. In this regard, through the Primary Education Graduate program designated by the Board of the Department of Elementary Education, courses on content knowledge, professional knowledge and general culture are conducted both theoretically and practically with the guidance of faculty members who are experts in their fields.

The aim of the Department of Classroom teaching MA program is to train experts in developing scientific knowledge regarding the different fields and teacher training fields within the scope of primary education in the 1st.-4th grades, finding solutions to the problems in the field of education and increasing the quality of educational applications.

Goals

The aim of the graduate program; In the area of classroom teaching in the field of scientific work to do and information to educate as well as the field of knowledge instructors for education that classroom teaching majors in Turkey to produce and contribute to our national training new is to train specialist teachers are equipped with contemporary knowledge.

Objectives

To become one of the best departments of Elementary Education that follows theoric developments and pursues advanced level scientific research, to train Primary School Teachers who are critical thinkers possessing leadership skills and capable of interdisciplinary collaboration and who are innovative and can produce original solutions.

Specific Admission Requirements

ALES exam score (Minimum 55, EA), undergraduate success grade, to be successful in the department's written evaluation. The scores of the candidates are calculated by taking 50% of the ALES standard score, 20% of the undergraduate graduation grade point average, and 30% of the evaluation score.

Qualification Requirements of Graduation

To have completed at least 120 ECTS credits in total, including at least eight courses including the seminar course and thesis work, provided that it is not less than 60 ECTS credits in one academic year (total of fall and spring semesters) of the master's program with thesis. The maximum number of courses that can be taken in the master's program with thesis is ten. It is necessary to have a weighted grade point average of at least 2.50 out of 4.00.

Access to Further Studies

The graduates of this program are eligible to apply for admission to obtain a PhD degree in their or related fields if they pass the evaluation process designated according to the “Regulations of Çukurova University Graduate Studies”, which includes a required ALES score and an adequate English language proficiency.
