General Information

Master's program; Graduates of the Biology and Molecular Biology Department of the faculties and candidates who have a bachelor's degree approved by the Academic Board of the Department are accepted. Program; The first 2 semesters include compulsory and elective courses aimed at gaining postgraduate knowledge and skills in the field of Histology and Embryology, and the thesis preparation period in the 3rd and 4th semesters.

In Cukurova University Institute of Health Sciences, Histology and Embryology Master program, students gain the necessary knowledge and skills at the master level, carry out to project related to the field as an individual or as a team member, present the current developments in his/her field and his/ her studies orally and in writing. Also train scientists who are able to identify their needs and resources and pay attention to ethical rules in their studies. In this context, advanced knowledge and skills training is given to master students in the fields of microscopic structures of cells, tissues and organs, their functional relations, human development and assisted reproductive techniques, cell culture, histochemistry and immunohistochemistry.

Goals

The aim of Cukurova University, Institute of Health Sciences, Master Program in Histology and Embryology, is to educate scientists who are equipped with knowledge, attitudes and skills and who give importance to ethical values, in accordance with the universal science criteria in the field of research area.

Objectives

Cukurova University Institute of Health Sciences, Histology and Embryology Master program aims to educate scientists who are capable of following current scientific developments, have the ability to reach information and who can take part in research planning. In this direction, the graduates of the program; In addition to being able to work in the reproductive laboratories (embryology, andrology) within the framework of legal rules in stem cell and cellular treatment centers, students who have a Master's degree may also continue their doctoral studies and advance in the academic field.

Specific Admission Requirements

The number of students to be admitted to graduate programs and the qualifications to be sought in candidate students are announced before the beginning of each semester. In this announcement, the application conditions and the deadline, the place and date of the interview of the candidates are stated. Candidates can apply with a bachelor's degree, a graduation average determined by the senate, ALES (at least 55 points) and a valid foreign language score. Candidates whose applications are accepted are taken to the interview exam by the candidate evaluation jury. Interview grade is given out of 100 full grades. Scientific achievement level of a candidate; It is the sum of 50% of the ALES score, 20% of the undergraduate grade point average, 25% of the interview grade and 5% of the foreign language score. Candidates must have a minimum interview score of 50 and a scientific achievement score of at least 65.

Students who have successfully completed this program are awarded a Master degree in Histology and Embryology.

Qualification Requirements of Graduation

This program consists of at least seven credit courses with a total of not less than 21 credits, specialization courses, seminar course and thesis. Seminar course and thesis work are not included in the credit and are evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. A master's program with thesis consists of a total of at least 120 ECTS credits, at least eight courses including the seminar course and thesis work, provided that it is not less than 60 ECTS credits in one academic term (total of fall and spring semesters). The maximum number of courses that can be taken in the master's program with thesis is ten. A student in a master's program with thesis has to write the results of his thesis in accordance with the thesis writing rules of the relevant institute and defend his thesis orally in front of the jury. After the thesis exam is completed, the jury decides to accept, reject or correct the thesis with absolute majority. The student, whose thesis is decided to be corrected, defends his thesis again in front of the same jury by doing the necessary within three months at the latest. At the end of this defense, the registration of the student whose thesis is not accepted will be deleted.

Access to Further Studies

Students who successfully complete the MSc degree can study in their respective fields or are educated in related fields of doctorate programs, provided that they obtain valid grades from ALES and have sufficient knowledge of English.

Internship

There is no internship course within the program.

Applied Course

Master's education is given practically in light and electron microscopy laboratories, immunohistochemistry laboratories, immunofluorescence laboratories and cell culture laboratories.

Work Placement

There is no workplace training within the scope of the program.
