Objectives

AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY AND TECHNOLOGIES ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT OBJECTIVES AND STRATEGIES Our department was established in 1970 as Agricultural Machinery Chair. The main purpose of the studies in our department; To produce and disseminate information for the design, manufacture, selection, efficient operation, healthy and safe use and protection of agricultural machinery required for Agricultural Production, To ensure more efficient and comfortable use of existing agricultural machinery (intelligent machines, more hydraulic systems, etc.), Designing and manufacturing machines that are not in our country and putting them into service (In this sense, many machines have been designed and manufactured in our department and put into mass production. Lentil harvesting machines, grass mechanization machines, seedling machines, citrus spraying, pruning machines etc.. can be counted in this sense. ), To provide samples of machines in other countries that are not available in our country, and present them to manufacturers and producers (For example, for the first time in our country and in our Region, pneumatic planting machines, spraying machines, soil tillage machines, etc.. Many machines suitable for modern agricultural techniques were brought by our department, leading them to enter the Region and Turkish Agriculture.) . For these purposes, our Department continues its education and training activities in higher education. In line with the realization of these duties, the areas of expertise in our Department are shaped as follows. Energy Conversion Systems, Agricultural Tractors, Thermal Engines, Ergonomics, Tillage Machinery, Sowing, Planting, Fertilizing Machines, Plant Protection Machinery, Harvest and Threshing Machines, Post Harvest Process Technologies, Agricultural Machinery Management and Planning, Sustainable Agricultural Technologies Animal Production Technologies, Greenhouse Technologies, mechatronics, Precision Agriculture Technologies, Computer Aided Design. In parallel with the developments in the world, the new research topics targeted by our Department can be summarized as follows; Precision Agriculture: Input-yield evaluation with variable-level input application in the field of agricultural production and applications of environmentally friendly agricultural machinery, Ergonomics in Mechanization: Machine design and optimization studies to create efficient, healthy and safe working conditions in agricultural mechanization, New spraying techniques: Low-environmental risk spraying techniques, Energy saving: Automation and energy saving studies in greenhouse cultivation, Drying Mechanization: Drying mechanization of medicinal and aromatic plants, Developing relations and cooperation with the agricultural machinery manufacturing industry, Establishment of an accreditation center infrastructure for agricultural machinery. Development of safety systems in agricultural machinery. Adaptation of smart systems to existing machines. Use of more hydraulic systems on existing machines. To ensure the availability of the same machine for multiple jobs. To ensure the development of electronic control systems by reducing fuel savings and emission values in agricultural tractors. To ensure the use of new generation materials in agricultural machinery. Sustainable agricultural techniques: In today's world, the sustainability of production, especially the protection and continuity of the efficiency and health of natural resources, has gained importance and is among the development goals of countries. For this reason, the sustainability of agricultural production is within the plans of agricultural policies. One of the important tasks that our department has undertaken and fulfilled as an important contribution to the practice until today is the experiments of agricultural machinery. Agricultural Machinery and Technologies Engineering Departments of universities have been authorized for these duties since the 1950s, and these duties have been successfully carried out by our departments.
