General Information

The Art and Design Department was established in the 2012-2013 academic year with the support of five departments that are currently continuing their education activities at our university, in order to provide expertise and competence training in fine arts and different design fields. The courses and consultancy in the program are mainly carried out by the faculty members of the Painting, Sculpture, Graphic, Textile and Fashion Design, Ceramics and Interior Architecture departments. The program has been enriched and organized with the support of academics working in different fields of knowledge.

Feature & Definition

Art and Design Master's program, which was created to appeal to all candidates in the art and design student resource, is an interdisciplinary program that aims to produce scientific research and qualified art and design practices in the fields of fine arts and design, and to train top-level artists, designers and researchers. There are five professors, ten associate professors and three doctoral faculty members working full-time in the Art and Design Master's Program.

Goals

The main aim of the program is to understand the art and design concepts of candidates who want to understand, synthesize, and equip themselves with different art and design disciplines. It aims to educate artists and designers who can make in-depth research in the field and follow innovations.

Objectives

The aim of the program is to provide the students with the environments to question the emerging movements, events and concepts of the period and to enable them to produce restructured projects within the framework of the theories investigated.

Specific Admission Requirements

Students are accepted to this program by evaluating the undergraduate graduation GPA, foreign language score, written and oral exams together, within the framework of "CU Graduate Education and Training Regulations"

Qualification Requirements of Graduation

In order to graduate from this program, it is necessary to successfully complete all the courses in the program, to have a weighted grade point average of at least 2.50 out of 4.00 and to successfully complete the master's thesis.

Access to Further Studies

In this program, students who have successfully completed the master's degree can study in their own field or in related fields in doctoral programs provided that they have sufficient knowledge of English language.
