General Information

Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems Program, on the basis of recognition of satellite technologies and data, their use in multi-disciplinary studies, providing detailed analysis and modeling outcomes, such as geology, mining, geophysics, maps, environment, agriculture, construction, etc. In addition to engineering branches, it provides the utilization and development of spatial information technologies for professions such as landscape architecture, city and regional planning.

Developing creative solutions for concrete problems encountered in national and international project studies requires a higher level scientific process. The most important steps of the project implementation in the fields of science, engineering, landscape, agriculture, planning and architecture are predicting the problems that may be encountered in the planning process and producing solutions for possible problems.

Goals

The aim of the program is to teach the techniques of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems in geology, mining, geophysics, maps, environment, agriculture, construction, etc. It is to provide theoretical and practical infrastructure on the basis of associating it with the fields of engineering, city and regional planning, landscape architecture, and to gain experience and knowledge to analyze and model in multi-disciplinary studies.

Objectives

The aim of the Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems PhD program is; To train qualified specialists who can work in public and private sectors and organizations, and especially in local governments' within the units that primarily produce and process spatial data, using Geographic Information Systems and data processing in many public institutions and organizations in our country.

Specific Admission Requirements

Having a master's thesis in Remote Sensing and GIS or Remote Sensing and GIS is a prerequisite for admission to the program.

Qualification Awarded

Students who successfully complete this program are awarded a doctorate (PhD) diploma in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems.
