General Information
German Language Teaching Department conducts a program that aims to train teachers, instructors, academicians within the field of German Language Teaching. The program includes compulsory lessons related with teaching profession, methods of teaching foreign languages, linguistics, literature and culture. In addition to the compulsory lessons, the curriculum in German Language Teaching Department includes elective courses. Thus, the German Language Teaching Department aims to educate graduates who are able to identify and solve the problems of foreign language teaching, use technology effectively, and have academic research skills.

Goals
The main objective of the program is to train outstanding German teachers, who are loyal to the Atatürk’s principles and revolutions; with both national and all-embracing identity; broad minded; fair; who adopted the culture of democracy; who are equipped with competencies about both German language and language teaching methods, sensitive about the qualifications that the language teaching profession require; who have research skills and who can think analytically; who have augmented communication skills; who are reconciled and in harmony with society; who are positive creative in addition to teacher training.
Objectives
Producing and applying knowledge in its field, continuously improving oneself; providing solutions through scientific methods to problems concerning education, teaching and teacher training; being a department which is shown as an example with qualified teachers.
Specific Admission Requirements
Placement through a centralized national university placement examination (ÖSYS). Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM) is responsible to place students according to their ÖSYS scores.

Qualification Requirements of Graduation
To be successful in this program, students are required to successfully complete all the courses to meet a minimum of 240 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum of GPA of 2.00/4.00.
Access to Further Studies
The graduates of this program are eligible to apply for admission to graduate studies in same field or related areas if they pass the evaluation process designated according to the regulations of "Çukurova University Graduate Education and Examination Committee", which includes ALES, general point of average, and the interview.

Translation etc. are lessons practical. There are two semesters of practice courses.
Work Placement
There is no on-the-job training.

Double major and minor programs are available. It is also possible to go abroad with the Erasmus Exchange Programme.

Graduates can be employed as English teachers in both public and private schools under the Ministry of National Education.
