General Information

The aim of the program is to train technical staff with the ability to apply more than the intended engineer and have general knowledge about construction. Construction Technology Program started education with regular education in 2007-2008 academic year and with secondary education in 2010-2011 academic year. The construction technicians; It constitutes the professional group working as technical staff in natural resources, transportation/highway, building departments and material testing laboratories of public or local administrations, as well as companies that are actively involved in building constructions such as dams, roads, airports, housing, etc. They play an important role as technical staff in the planning, project, construction and control stages of all buildings from highways, bridges, dams, airports, water supply/distribution systems and residences to commercial centers. In this context, a construction technician should be able to draw the necessary drawings in the preparation of architectural and static projects related to buildings, both by hand and with the help of package programs, in computer environment, to test building materials using tools, equipment and technical knowledge and skills, and to prepare detailed reports and evaluate the results. Our students will be able to extract and evaluate the topographic structure of the construction site; should have the knowledge and ability to use measuring instruments at a level to determine highway codes and directions. It is expected that our graduates will have sufficient theoretical and practical knowledge for making progress payment arrangements, preparation of construction site work plans, reliable construction of structures in accordance with the project, and studies related to other engineering technology by making the quantity and exploration processes related to the building.

Students graduating from the Construction Technology program are employed in different private or public construction sectors (such as concrete plants, insulation and building materials production facilities, construction sites, architectural offices) in line with their qualifications. Construction Technicians: equipped with a sense of confidence to start and run their own business; They are graduated with the knowledge and skills to know the legislation related to project, structure, insurance, tax and health institutions and to perform the necessary bureaucratic procedures. Having the ability to work independently and make decisions within accuracy and ethical values ​​are important features for a construction technician. At the same time, he should have the qualifications to establish relations with the public as well as professional experts in his working life. Population growth and developing technology bring along the need for more and more qualified construction technicians in the design and construction of higher capacity transportation networks, water resources, repair or reconstruction of existing roads, bridges and other structures.

Goals

The aim of this program is to train intermediate technicians who have more theoretical knowledge and engineering skills than technicians, who are between senior executives and / or engineers and technicians due to their duty in the field of study.

Objectives

To be a program that trains qualified intermediate staff with high knowledge and skills, able to apply the requirements of the profession at the highest level.

Specific Admission Requirements

Being able to get the desired score from TYT, which is the first step exam conducted by ÖSYM.

Qualification Awarded

Students who have successfully completed this program are entitled to receive the Associate Degree in Construction Technology.

Qualification Requirements of Graduation

A total of 120 ECTS courses must be successfully completed and a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00. In addition to successfully completing the courses, an internship is also a must.

Access to Further Studies

Graduates can pass the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture with the Vertical Transfer Exam conducted by ÖSYM.
