Translational Medicine (English) (with Thesis) (Interdisciplinary)

Master's Degree - Instıtute Of Medıcal Scıences

General Information

It is an English master's program with thesis that aims to examine basic molecular and cellular mechanisms in health and disease from a holistic perspective and to provide a holistic perspective on basic research and clinical research. Due to its interdisciplinary nature, Translational Medicine is a field that develops with the contributions of basic sciences such as Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Clinical sciences (medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, pharmacy), and engineering sciences (Biomedical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Bioengineering). Translational Medicine English Master's program with a Thesis is a program aimed at educating scientists who are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills at the master's level, who can conduct scientific studies related to the field individually or as a team member, who can present the current developments in their field and their own studies orally and in writing, who can direct their learning needs and resources, and pay attention to ethical rules in their studies.

Feature & Definition

Translational Medicine is defined as a process in which basic research moves from discoveries made in the laboratory to real clinical applications. Translational Medicine is an interdisciplinary field that requires many disciplines to work together and acts as a bridge between basic research and clinical research. It enables basic studies or clinical applications of basic studies for areas that need to be studied in the clinic. In interdisciplinary research, the training of scientists who combine both basic sciences, clinical sciences and engineering perspectives will mean a longer distance in solving problems in a shorter time, rather than different scientists from different departments looking at an existing problem from different perspectives. For this reason, an interdisciplinary curriculum is carried out in the above-mentioned disciplines in the English Master's Program with Thesis in the Department of Translational Medicine.
