The PhD program is a 6 semester training program, structured in such a way that it trains future researchers in conducting research according to international standards. In this program, further to producing an independent scientific project, the program includes teaching and dissemination activities.

Goals

PhD program in the Fishing Technology and Seafood Processing Technology allows students the ability and skills to develop new ideas, methods, designs and apply an original research topic in the their expertise area. Fishing Technology and Seafood Processing Technology involves fishing techniques, selective gears and sustainable fisheries management on especially commercial aquatic animals, processing of aquatic plants and animals, novel approaches for processing of seafood, safety and quality control analyses of seafood, nutritional components of seafood, and biotechnology and nanotechnology applications for seafood. This program also aims to give skills in developing and using research methods along with interpretation of the data and their conversion into a scientific paper.

Objectives

The purpose of this program is to provide students with the ability to conduct independent research, to analyze scientific phenomena with a broad and deep perspective, to interpret, to analyze and to determine the necessary steps to achieve new syntheses.

Specific Admission Requirements

The students can apply to this program providing ALES score, master point averages and interview in accordance with the regulations of “Çukurova University Graduate Education and Examination Committee” and can pursue their education in their or in related fields.

Qualification Awarded

The students who have successfully accomplished this program gain the doctor of philosophy (PhD) of Fishing and Seafood Processing Technology.
