General Information

Construction Technology Program was established in 1982 and Education-Teaching started. Evening Program was opened in the education-training period in 1993-1994. As of 2017-2018, education continues with 50 quota in both education. Our program has a laboratory where soil mechanics, building materials, building mechanics experiments are done.

Feature & Definition

Students graduating from the Construction Technology program are employed in different private or public construction sectors (such as concrete plants, insulation and building materials production facilities, construction sites, architectural offices) in line with their qualifications. Construction Technicians: equipped with a sense of confidence to start and run their own business; They are graduated with the knowledge and skills to know the legislation related to project, structure, insurance, tax and health institutions and to perform the necessary bureaucratic procedures.

Goals

The aim of the program is to train technicians who have gained the ability to find contemporary solutions for construction problems, have adopted the principle of continuous improvement, and respect professional and ethical values.

Objectives

It is to be a privileged program that provides qualified intermediate personnel who can apply the requirements of the profession at the highest level with high knowledge and skill.

Specific Admission Requirements

Students are admitted to the Construction Technology Program with a central examination conducted by the Measurement Selection and Placement Center (OSYM). Students are admitted to the program with TYT score type and 2-year associate degree education is given. Students who choose with their TYT score are placed in the program they prefer with the Central Placement made by OSYM according to their success ranking.

Qualification Awarded

Students who successfully complete this program are entitled to receive an associate degree in construction technology.

Qualification Requirements of Graduation

Students graduate from this program by completing 120 ECTS/ECTS credits. In order to graduate, students must successfully complete all of the courses available in the program and obtain a grade point average of at least 2.0 out of 4.00. In addition, students must successfully complete their 30-day professional internship. The graduate student is awarded an associate degree in Construction Technology.

Access to Further Studies

If graduates get necessary points from the Vertical Transfer Exam , they can complete their undergraduate education.

Internship

Internship is a practical and applied education that students will do in the relevant sector. Internships will be held on the dates announced by the School Directorate, and the duration of the internship cannot be less than 30 working days depending on the nature of the program. It is appropriate to do the internship during the summer break at the end of the first year. Students can do internships in Public and Private Workplaces.

Applied Course

Within the scope of the program, there are courses that include applications such as Professional Practices, Computer Aided Drawing, Land Measurements, Computer Aided Design, Building Quantity and Cost.

Work Placement

Apart from the internship, there is no job-based learning activity.

The Construction Technology program has a wide field of study in the Construction Departments and the Private Sector, which are part of the Public Institutions.
