General Information

The department of Electrical and Electronics engineering was established in the year 1987 with an intention to provide graduate and undergraduate programs in various disciplines. The graduate and undergraduate programs were started in the fall semester of 1989 and 1990, respectively. The language of teaching is English for both undergraduate and graduate programs.

Feature & Definition

The program has been designed to provide a contemporary Electrical and Electronic engineering education, and is composed of four years. The courses in the first year mainly consist of general physics, chemistry, and mathematics to bring the knowledge level of students with different backgrounds to a standard level. Compulsory courses are given in the second and third years (two non-technical elective courses have been added to each semesters of the third year). The fourth year curriculum includes elective courses, and a graduation thesis that is compulsory (two non-technical elective courses have been added to each semesters of the fourth year).

Goals

To provide a contemporary Electrical and Electronic Engineering education.

Objectives

The aim of this program is to educate students on the basics of theoretical and practical areas of electrical and electronics engineering, with abilities of adjusting themselves to the possible developments in the field, thinking in an analytical way, conducting research and reaching the knowledge, and with ethical values needed in their profession.

Specific Admission Requirements

Placement through a centralized national university placement examination (ÖSYS). Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM) is responsible to place students according to their ÖSYS scores.

Qualification Awarded

The students who have successfully completed this program gain the bachelor´s degree of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Qualification Requirements of Graduation

To be successful in this program, students are required to successfully complete all the courses to meet a minimum of 240 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum of GPA of 2.00/4.00

Access to Further Studies

The graduates of this program are eligible to apply for admission to graduate studies in the same field or related areas if they pass the evaluation process designated according to the regulations of "Çukurova University Graduate Education and Examination Committee", which includes ALES, general point of average, and the interview.

Internship

20 week days. Companies or institutions in which at least one electrical or electronic engineer exists.

Applied Course

Applied courses are coordinated by the course coordinator and conducted on research laboratories.

Work Placement

Two summer practices following the 4. and the 6. semesters.

Double Major, Additional Major & Exchange Possibilities

Students can get a minor degree in other available engineering departments.

Employment Opportunities

Our graduates are recruited in the areas of Electricity production and distribution, electronics, telecommunications, and computers.
