Forestry Department Hunting and Wildlife program; Giving associate degree education on Zoology, Field Camping Techniques, Wild Plants Systematics, General Ecology and Meteorology, Forestry Information, Hunting Tools and Methods, Wildlife and Fire, Nature and Hunting Tourism, Forest Management, Wildlife and Forestry, Production of Wild Animals, Birds. It is a higher education unit. Our students are obliged to take in-field elective courses at a rate of twenty-five percent of the curriculum, which has a total of 120 ECTS. Our applied courses and internship activities are carried out in the forests within the borders of Pos Forest Management, as well as the laboratories of our school.

Goals

Aladağ Vocational School will be opened within the framework of the Hunting and Wildlife Program, Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs, General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks, General Directorate of Forestry, Municipalities, Provincial and District Hunting Commission, or private hunting and zoo gardens aims to cultivate a qualified intermediate human power that will be able to undertake and / or run a workplace on its behalf after it has taken over and / or provided legal conditions.

Objectives

Search for technical knowledge and skills in our country that can help forestry engineers, biologists and wildlife managers to protect wildlife, make inventories, produce, develop habitats, monitor, manage, operate and develop populations, sustainable hunting and wildlife conservation. to train staff.

Specific Admission Requirements

Successfully passing the exam organized by ÖSYM and gaining the right to enroll in the program based on the TYT score.

Qualification Requirements of Graduation

In order to complete the program and graduate as a hunting and wildlife technician, students must complete at least 120 ECTS credits and have a GPA of at least 2.00. Students who have the right to graduate are awarded a diploma in accordance with the provisions of Article 36 of Çukurova University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations. GPA is also the graduation grade point average.

Access to Further Studies

The four-year undergraduate programs that students who have successfully completed their associate degree education in this program can enroll in if they pass the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) are as follows: Wildlife Ecology and Management of Forest Faculties and Forest Engineering.

Internship

With the approval of the Internship Committee, students can do internship in public/legal/private institutions, organizations and workplaces for 30 working days. They can do internships in central and provincial units of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, private forestry offices, private hunting grounds, zoos, associations and foundations working on nature protection. It is obligatory to have at least one expert officer with a bachelor's degree in biology, forestry engineering, wildlife ecology and management in the institution/workplace where the students will do their internship.

Students can benefit from Erasmus exchange opportunities. Double major opportunity; If they apply, students with outstanding success can successfully pass the courses of a second program with a content close to their main program and receive a double diploma.

Employment Opportunities

In our country, there is a need for professional technical staff trained in this field in public institutions and private sector. The graduates of the hunting and wildlife program have higher employment opportunities due to this need. Graduates find career opportunities in the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks and the General Directorate of Forestry belonging to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. He is employed as a technician in the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks, in national parks, nature parks, national parks, nature protection areas, biogenetic reserves. He can work as a forest conservation officer at the General Directorate of Forestry. For this reason, they have the opportunity to work in all provinces of Turkey. There is no gender discrimination in terms of job opportunities. He can find work in the management of privately owned hunting grounds, game farms, agencies that organize hunting tourism, safari parks and hunting clubs.
