Course Goal / Objective

Machine Elements is a course investigating the principles of calculation and styling of the elements that constitute machines. In this lesson, it is aimed to understand the basic static and strength information, to classify the machine elements according to the characteristics, to calculate the strength of machine elements and to select the appropriate element.

Course Content

Definition of Machine. Classification of Machine Elements. General Knowledge of Materials Science. General Knowledges of Strength of Materials. Connecting Fasteners; Keys, Pins, Bolt-Nut Joints, Power Screws Tight Fit and Taper Fit, Power Transmission Elements, Rivet, Soldering, Welding.
