Course Goal / Objective

This course aims to introduce general concepts, structures and production principles of fabric surfaces, help students understand woven design techniques and technical projection, learn complex weaving methods and production techniques, learn the structural design methods of basic woven fabrics, learn design methods of colored woven fabrics.

Course Content

Definition, terminology and general concepts of woven structures. Basic woven structures, properties and design (plain, twill and satin weaves). Derivatives of plain, twill and satin structures. Other weaves; construction, properties and design. Sample studies; constructional and structural analysis.
