Course Goal / Objective
This course aims at teaching the classification of fibers, giving an understanding of the effect of fiber properties during subsequent textile processes, giving detailed information about fiber structure, product methods, their specifitations and end -uses of natural fibers (cotton, flax, wool, silk, etc.), animal fibers (wool, silk, etc.)
Course Content
Defination of textile materials. Classification and basic features of textile materials. General molecular structures of fibres. Vegetable fibers. Cellulose. Physical and chemical structure of cotton fibre, features, gining and standardization. Linen, hemp, jüte, Animal fibres. Protein.
