Course Goal / Objective
In this course, general characteristics, classification, family and species diagnosis morphological and anatomical structures, active substance and uses purposes of medicinal plant will learn. Also it is intended that medicinal plant specimen collection from nature, create of the herbarium specimen, pharmaceutical importance of herbarium to be given as practical.
Course Content
The general structure of the plant cell and plant cell, cell wall, vacuole, and crystals, herbal biological macromolecules, mitosis and meiosis divisions in plant cells, plant tissues. Plant systematics and the flora of Turkey. Definition and general concepts of pharmaceutical Botany and pharmaceutical importance. Nomenclature and classification of plants and drugs, biologically active compounds of plants and drugs. Morphological and anatomical features of medicinal plant groups. Bacteriophytae, Cyanophytae, Phycophytae, Mycophytae, Lichens, Bryophytae, Spermatophytae, Spermatophyta; Gymnospermae and Angiospermae; The properties and comparison of monocotyl and dicotyl plants. Important families plants, drugs, ingredients, effects and their use in point of Pharmacy,. Distribution of medicinal plants in Turkey and their use. Diagnosis of plants, herbarium material, herbarium and importance of creating herbarium in point pharmacy.
