Course Goal / Objective

1. History of Science in physics as a discipline which is characterized by the main changes in science, physics and urban technology from classical antiquity to the 14 th century. 2. the influence of prevailing conditions (political, social, religious, economic) on scientific, technological and physical developments in different localities and at different times 3. the value of making comparisons for a deeper appreciation of scientific, physicis and technological change in different regions, within historical view. 4. the difference between primary and secondary sources which developing the science, and of their use in the history of science, technology and physics.

Course Content

1. An introduction to the study of history of science, technology and physics in its present contextual approach 2. An opportunity to explore beyond the scope of conventional university teaching of the discipline, which is normally restricted to a few countries of western Europe 3. The skills to develop the comparative approach to history of science in physics and technology 4. Opportunities for the study of key aspects of the change in science and physics from the antiquity to the fourteenth, and of urban technology from antiquity to the 14 th century.
