Course Goal / Objective
Understanding the phylosophy of Reforms in the Ottoman period, evaluating the artists and art works of the era.
Course Content
Evaluates the social, political and cultural effects and innovations of the Tanzimat era. Understands the importance of journalism in the Tanzimat period. Defines novel, story, critics as a kind of literature and is able to carry out format and content review. Knows the famous novelist of the Tanzimat period. Understands the change and critical approach in Turkish poetry. Analyses poetry formats of the Tanzimat Period. Defines the literary differences between Tanzimat period artists. Understands the importance of translation activities of the period.
