Course Goal / Objective
Understanding the Tanzimat Philosophy as a Reform Movement, analysing the literary artists and their works of the period.
Course Content
Evaluates the social, political and cultural effects and innovations of the Tanzimat era. Understands the importance of journalism in the Tanzimat period. Defines poetry as a kind of literature and is able to carry out format and content review. Knows the poets of the Tanzimat period. Understands the change and critical approach in Turkish poetry. Analyzes poetry formats of the Tanzimat Period. Defines the literary differences between Tanzimat period artists. Understands the importance of translation activities of the period.
