Course Goal / Objective
The goal of this course is to provide understanding of the principles of biochemical reactions in living organisms, bioenergetics, intermediar metabolism and its regulation
Course Content
Principles of bioenergetics, Glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, the pentose phosphate pathway, the citric acid cycle, Fatty acid synthesis, Amino acid oxidation and the production of urea, Oxidative phosphorylation and electron transport, fatty acid oxidation, Biosynthesis of purin and pirimidin, Integration and hormonal regulation of metabolism.
