Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to teach basic consepts of materials to textile engineering students, introduction the properties of materials such as mechanical, physical and cemical and destructive and undestructive tests. teaching of these tests, ensure the students knowledge and skills to be able to select materials for engineering applications

Course Content

Introduction to material science. Atomic structure, mechanical properties of materials ( elastisity, hardness, tensile, impact, ), phsical properties (termal, optical, magnetical, electrical), surface properties (corosion, wear) and testing of these properties. Metalical materials, alloys, steel, phase diegrams, termal operations, non metalic materials, polimers, ceramics, composite materials, industrial textile materials.
