Course Goal / Objective

To acquaint students with nature of science, development of scientific thinking and philosophy of science.

Course Content

Definition of science: aims, features, development and phases. History of science: Philosophy of Science, philosophical ideas, the effects of philosophical ideas on scientific development, history of invention. Epistemology, ontology: Nature of scientific concept, scientific knowledge and its features, existence concept. Scientific methods: Scientific thinking, Scientific inquiry. Science and society: Sociology of Science and Anthropology of Science, scientific ethic, the examples in history of science
