Course Goal / Objective

Starting with the Neolithic perıod, pottery is a very important part of the archaeological record. This course introduces basic pottery technology (raw materials, forming techniques, firing techniques) that the archaeologist should know, and reviews terminology for understanding and describing archaeological pottery.

Course Content

This course teaches archaeology students the terms related to pottery, how pottery is made, how pottery and its functions can be understood, and provides to students the abılıty to apply this learned information.
