Course Goal / Objective

Examining funerary traditions from the burial practices carried out by communities living in prehistoric Anatolia. One goal of scientific prehistory is studying by means of graves the kinds and purposes of people's behavior in the past, before the period when people left written evidence.

Course Content

The course addresses Anatolian funerary traditions long before the existence of writing and the prehistoric roots of today's traditions, which Anatolian people developed about death, in connection with social and cultural structures and links with neighboring regions.
