Course Goal / Objective

New political formations and relevant cultural developments that occured in Mesopotamia in 2000 BC will be explained. Also economic, political, cultural, religious, and social structure of Mesopotamia will be introduced with examples. Also, the cultures, artistic traditions of Babylonian and Assyrian, who lived between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, between 2000-1000 BC will be presented and their relations to the contemporary cultures will be discussed based on their architecture, sculpture, and small crafts.
