Course Goal / Objective

To help preservice teachers develop basic interpersonal communication skills (listening and talking) to work with young children between the ages of 0 to six and their families, ) with children and families, and resolve conflicts in preschool classrooms and with families

Course Content

Definition of concepts about interpersonal communication, properties of communication process, basic communication skills (listening and talking) with children and families in early childhood, the factors that hinders communication and conflict resolution in preschool classrooms and families, body language, communicating with children, communication skills related to society (biases, prejudices, shyness, public speaking, etc.)
